Replenishing lost volume and providing lift are two keys to diminishing the appearance of facial wrinkles and folds. There are two physical characteristics that dictate the ability of injectable fillers to provide volume and lift: viscosity and elasticity (G´).
Study Description
The Viscosity and Elasticity were measured by deformation oscillation using a plate and plate geometry. Measurements were taken at 0.7 Hz because it was considered physiologically relevant for common skin stressors.
Viscosity
Measures the ability of a filler to withstand a force that is applied to it and not spread or splay into the surrounding tissue. As seen in the chart below, RADIESSE® shows the highest resistance to spreading when compared to other dermal fillers.
